EIN GOTT - VIEL GLAUBEN (Im Heiligen Land Tirol)
A / 2006, 26min., Direction: Florian Höllerl / Post production: Patrick Spanbauer

Tirol is traditionally the sacred heart of Austria and is well-known as the stronghold of the catholic religion and shelter of traditions.
The Islamic community has recently become a talking point in the upper Inntal located town of Telfs, since the Muslims got the authorization to build a minaret there. Although it was set that the building should not be higher than the ones surrounding it and that the muezzin could not make his callings over the town roofs it was finally erected.
If we take a closer look, Telfs and its surrounding area turn out to be a completely atypical Tyrolese region. The Muslim denomination is not the only one to have found there a permanent home; it coexists alongside with a Buddhist centre as well as, naturally, the Catholic religion.
The film shows scenes of the Franciscan daily life, examines the Buddhist meditation practices and approaches into the Muslim way of thinking.
